World Cup 2019: BCCI Deletes Post After Facing Backlash On ‘thump’ Tweet For India’s 11-run Win Against Afghanistan
India continued their unbeaten run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 by a 11-run win over Afghanistan in an edge of the seat thriller. By the virtue of this win, India have now moved up to the third spot in the points table with four wins and nine points in five matches. While Afghanistan, on the other hand, continue to languish at the bottom of the points table with six losses in as many games.
After the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to their official Twitter handle and described it as a thumping win. They wrote, ‘And we march on – #TeamIndia thump Afghanistan by 11 runs’. However, this did not go down well with the fans and they made fun of BCCI following which they deleted the tweet.
BCCI then posted ‘As #TeamIndia beat Afghanistan by 11 runs we march and move on to Manchester next #INDvAFG #CWC19’. Read the tweet here.

Despite this, the fans were not happy with India’s performance as compared to their previous games which they had won convincingly. Read some tweets here.

Team should really introspect today’s performance! Understood that it’s hit by injuries of star players! But today either they took @GbNaib team lightly or were not in right spirits to fight! Our prayers & good wishes with @imVkohli team May u bounce back with greater strength!❤️
